Teaching at NMH: The science department is a collegial group, ready to share and implement both new and tried and true ideas. The sharing and learning among teachers is a model for the student experience in the science classrooms; as students share their ideas they become teachers and learners in the give and take of discussion and class activities. The broad spectrum of cultural backgrounds from which our students come keeps my experience as a teacher both interesting and satisfying, challenging me to keep my methods flexible and varied, while pushing students to move beyond information collection to developing learning habits in the context of science.
