Education: B.A., M.A., English, Cheikh Anta Diop University, Dakar, Senegal.
Roles at NMH: French teacher, boys' 3rds soccer coach, boys' junior varsity wrestling coach, advisor of the Muslim Students Association.
Teaching at NMH: The world languages program is very comprehensive. I enjoy the interaction with students, sharing with them the love I have for the French language and culture, telling them my story, and hearing their stories. As a teacher, I always have to be on task and on top of my subject. As the French philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau said, "He who ceases to learn, ceases to teach." Students at NMH are taught to think critically and will always challenge us as teachers.
Experience: At NMH since 2003; Certificat d'honneur as Teacher of the Laureat (Concours National de Francais) from the American Association of French Teachers
What excites me about NMH is the diversity in student backgrounds. They all have great stories and are willing to share them. They are intellectually curious, and also willing to expand their comfort zones.
