Teaching at NMH
Important to teaching is to introduce the technical, creative and historical aspects of the art medium. Acquiring technical skills in the studio offers students an avenue of visual expression and literacy. I challenge my students to take risks, to explore and consider options and encourage them to embrace their artistic vision. This is where the important learning begins.
Teaching at NMH since 2001; Maine Photographic and Media Workshops teacher grants in photography and video; Maine College of Art grant for plein air painting workshop, Monhegan Island, ME; grants for independent plein air painting trips to areas of Maine, Massachusetts, and California; prior to teaching at NMH, 20 years as art director, graphic designer, and illustrator in advertising, marketing, educational publishing, and multimedia design
