Wil has played hockey and lacrosse since he was a boy, and has coached for more than 15 years. Before coming to NMH in 2019, he helped start an ice hockey program at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, California; the program grew from a single JV club team into a multiple-team program, and after four years, the varsity team, which Wil coached, won a league championship and was invited to the state championships. When he was head coach for the SFHS boys’ JV lacrosse team and assistant coach for the boys’ varsity lacrosse team, the program more than doubled in size. As an athlete, Wil played NCAA D II lacrosse at Notre Dame de Namur, earning a WCAL championship in 2011 and serving as a captain his senior year. He earned two bachelor’s degrees, in Religious Studies and Psychology, from NDNU and also holds a master’s in Theological Studies from Austin Presybyterian Theological Seminary.
