How We Grow

Living and Learning as a Community

Every member of our community is expected to engage across differing identities, to recognize and challenge biases, and to develop world views in a spirit of dialogue, not division.

As an NMH student, your education is not confined to the classroom. Our curriculum-based campus life program is an immersive experience that connects learning objectives across all aspects of academic and residential life.

Whether in advising or in the dorm, on the playing fields or in Alumni Hall, NMH students have opportunities to engage and learn with one another and with adults in meaningful ways.

These experiences balance our challenging curriculum, creating a holistic journey of self-discovery for students and building critical literacies that include diversity, equity, and inclusion; global citizenship; service and leadership; and environmental stewardship.

NMH’s campus life program grounds students in our community and allows them to share ideas, beliefs, and identities as they grow into the fullest version of themselves.

People are confident in themselves, and they’re open to diverse perspectives and opinions from different cultures. Students at NMH get to know people without having biases beforehand. I am surrounded by good people I laugh with every day.

As students become intentional listeners, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners, they recognize how their individual skills and actions serve the greater good.
