Andrew
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada

For his postgraduate year, Andrew sought a school with strong academic and athletics programs. He found that at NMH.
What brought me to NMH:
Basketball brought me to NMH, when the coaching staff first reached out to me I thought it would be a great opportunity to play in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council. It was important for me in my postgraduate year to find a school that offered strong academics with a good basketball program.
The most challenging part of my time at NMH:
Things such as being away from family and balancing the academic schedule with basketball. I handled it very well, as there is a strong supportive community around me here that I was able to go to if needed.
My favorite class:
Postgraduate English, because it challenged me but also I was able to enjoy time off the court with my teammates.
Favorite food in Alumni Hall:
Stir fry and the ice cream.
Favorite spot on campus:
The snack bar. I love the chicken quesadillas they make.

Enjoy each moment, as your time at NMH will go by fast.”
Favorite NMH tradition:
I really enjoyed Tron bon.
An educator who’s been especially supportive during my time at NMH:
Both my coaches, Coach Shelton and Coach Jelani. They helped me develop on the court but also helped prepare me to be successful in the future.
Advice I would give myself if I could go back to my first day at NMH:
Enjoy each moment, as your time at NMH will go by fast.
How NMH has changed me:
NMH has helped me grow as a student-athlete, as I was able to develop skills like time management and problem-solving.
What’s special to me about NMH:
It has beautiful views of the surrounding hills and trees. It provided me a lot of opportunities in basketball and in the classroom.
What I will miss most about NMH:
The friendships I made with my coaches, teammates, and roommates.
Where I'm heading next:
