Thank you to all who participated in this year’s Pie Race! Joseph Bullock ’22 placed first in the student race on campus with a time of 17:09, and Aaleigha Ashley ’21 and Lulu Calame ’23 tied as the female winners with a time of 24:09. As a special surprise this year, dining services baked pies for all who participated on campus. Alumni and NMH families were also invited to join in the race by completing 3.1 miles (5K) at any location between Oct. 15 and Nov. 15. There were 72 “virtual” racers from 20 U.S. states and four other locations around the world: Edinburgh, Scotland; Nairobi, Kenya; Shenzhen, China; and Taipei City, Taiwan. Hadija Mahmoud ’20 of Nairobi placed first overall among the virtual runners and was the first female winner with a time of 20:00. The first-place male was Spencer Russell ’08 of Houston with a time of 20:48. The top parent finishers were Robert Edwards P’23 of Fairfax, Virginia, with a time of 32:30, and Kathleen McDonald P ’21 of Napa, California with a time of 33:20. Congratulations to everyone who ran!
