Athlete of the Week: Fiona Tierney '19

Girls’ Track and Field, Fiona Tierney ‘19 (Mount Hermon, MA)

After missing all of last season due to injury, Fiona came back and had a strong opening meet helping the team clinch a dual meet victory over Choate Rosemary Hall. She was a key member of the winning 4x100 and 4x400m relays. Fiona also scored points in the 200m race.

Athlete of the Week: Aran Zecha '18

Boys’ Track and Field, Aran Zecha '18 (Singapore)

In his first ever track meet, senior Aran Zecha won both the discus and javelin events and placed 2nd place in the shot put event. Aran claimed 13 points for the NMH team also contributing to the 4 x 400m Relay team.

Athlete of the Week: Gillian Eby '18

Girls' Varsity Lacrosse, Gillian Eby '18 (Townson, MD)

Gillian Eby recorded 3 goals in the teams first game of the season, a 6-5 victory over the Berkshire school. Gil's leadership and tenacity on the field also contributed to NMH's control on the draw circle and ground balls. Next year, Gil will be playing for nationally ranked Navy under legendary coach Cindy Timchal.

Athlete of the Week: Nate Laszewski '18

Boys' Varsity Basketball, Nate Laszewski '18 (Jupiter, FL)

Notre Dame Commit, Nate Laszewski, won the 8th annual U.S. Marine's Men's 3-point championship from Wagner High School in San Antonio Texas. Nate's impressive shooting performance was noteworthy against some of the best high school players in the nation. The event aired on CBS April 1st, 2018.

Athlete of the Week: Brett Rezendes '18

Varsity Wrestling, Brett Rezendes ‘18 (Bridgewater, MA)

Brett followed up his Class A championship at 138lbs and won the New England Championship at 132lbs. The previous week Brett won the Class A title at 138 lbs. This versatile wrestler will join 6 other teammates in traveling to Lehigh University for the National Championship meet this weekend.

Athlete of the Week: Allie Lopes '18

Girls’ Varsity Basketball, Allie Lopes '18 (Scituate, MA)

Senior Captain, Allie Lopes, led the girls’ basketball team to their 3rd consecutive Northeast Eight (NE8) tournament title. Allie chipped in 12 points in the Championship game against Taft. For the season, Allie has shot an impressive 52% from the field and 43% on three-point shots. Throughout her career at NMH, Allie has been a superlative leader and team player to help build the girls program up near the top in NE. Allie was selected to the NE8 tournament All-Star team for her performance this weekend.
