Athlete of the Week: Salli Lubbe '21

Salli Lubbe '21, Girls Varsity Swimming

The NMH Swimming program competed at the New England Division 1 Championships at Deerfield Academy this past weekend. Salli Lubbe '21 finished second in the 100 Fly, NMH's highest finish since Tina Ertel in 2004. It was an incredible race, with Salli representing NMH fiercely. Salli also secured a 13th place finish in the 200 free and led the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay to 8th and 9th place finishes, respectively.

March 4th, 2019

The University of Pennsylvania commit went for 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a NEPSAC AAA semifinal 91-79 win over St. Thomas More and 10 blocks 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 blocks to help lead NMH to a 96-85 win over Brewster Academy to claim their 2nd straight New England Championship. Max broke his own record for blocks in a season, which currently stands at 114 and holds the career mark with 318. Max is also the winningest player in NMH basketball history with 121 wins including 3 New England Championships. Max earned NEPSAC AAA Honorable Mention this year. 

Athlete of the Week: Bella Ceseretti '19

Captain Bella Ceseretti quietly fills her own stat line and consistently contributes to the success of the girls' varsity basketball team out of the lime light. In a 1-1 week for the squad, Bella averaged 2 made 3 point field goals a game, while also averaging 3 steals and 2 deflections on the defensive end, where it was her responsibility to limit the impact of our oppositions strongest guard. The quiet pose, resilience, demeanor, and intensity of Bella has been integral to the success of the girls varsity basketball team this entire season. 

Athlete of the Week: Kelly Cao '20

Feb. 25th, 2019 

This past weekend, Captain Kelly Cao won several medals, including 3rd in the backstroke and 200 relay. Kelly also swam the medley relay, with 30 second 50 leadoff in the backstroke for her team. Most importantly, Kelly helped carry the team through its best day in many years. Her character and love for her teammates earned the admiration of many coaches.

Athlete of the Week: Alex Minichiello '22

Alex Minickiello '22 
Boys' Varsity Swimming

Feb. 25th, 2019 

Alex took 1st place in the 500 freestyle and 2nd in the 200 free at the Wilmont Babcock Invitational. As a ninth grader, Alex scored more points than any swimmer for the NMH boys at this event in several years.

Athlete of the Week: Yaraslau Slavikouski '19

Yaraslau Slavikouski '19 
Varsity Wrestling

Feb. 18th, 2019

Senior Captain Yaraslau Slavikouski was named the New England Champion at 220lb. With that win Yaraslau ends his NMH high school wrestling career as a 3x Class A Champion, 3x New England Champion, 2x National Preps Runner-up. Yara forgoes his qualification at National Preps due to age guidelines, and will continue his wrestling career at Harvard next fall.
