NMH's Board of Trustees Chair Emeritus William R. Rhodes '53, Citi senior vice chairman, and chairman and president, Citibank, was honored with the 2009 Fulbright Award for Global Corporate Cooperation. He was among those honored by One to World, which brings Americans and students from around the world face-to-face to share their lives and perspectives in life-changing ways. Rhodes received The Banker magazine's first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his pivotal role during five decades in international banking. In the words of Stephen Timewell, editor-in-chief of The Banker, "In international banking, Bill Rhodes…is synonymous with trust, integrity, and an incredible ability to relate to people across the planet. His negotiating skills are legend…He is the world's best known and most respected banker." Despite his global travels, NMH is never far from Rhodes's heart: One of the school's largest donors, he made a lead gift of $5 million for NMH's Rhodes Arts Center, a 63,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that opened in September 2008.
