The Northfield Mount Hermon girls’ hockey team plays in the prestigious New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) at the Division I level. NMH has been a proving ground for the development of girls’ ice hockey players who have gone on to play NCAA DI and DIII college hockey.
NMH hockey is defined by hard work, resilience, and the love of the game. Our program focuses on player development with a foundation of focused, high intensity practices. Practices are designed to improve player and team skill sets while emphasizing hard work and the joy of competing. The team trains in the Caligione Fitness Center twice a week and also watches game video on a weekly basis.
Scot McComas leads the NMH program as the varsity head coach, with Alex Duquette assisting him. Scot began his tenure at NMH in the fall of 2022 and has been a part of an upward trend for the program. The 2022-2023 season marked the most successful season since 2018. NMH alumnae Erin Jaworski '97 is the head junior varsity coach, assisted by Jake Morrow.
The NMH staff brings a unique perspective to the game, emphasizing team play, a balance of work and play, and the promotion of ice hockey as a powerful and positive experience in the lives of student athletes.
