Student Activities

With so many fun activities, your weekends will fly by, but the memories will stay with you.

Whether you’re a day student or a boarder, life at NMH is anything but ordinary. Our extensive weekend activities, volunteer opportunities, and spiritual resources mean you’ll have lots of ways to become engaged and have fun.

You’ll have a lot to choose from: home games for our 67 sports teams, dozens of student-run events (from poetry slams to a cappella concerts), and tons of opportunities for community service. On Friday nights, you might join the entire school to cheer on your housemates for intramural games, in dodgeball, basketball, broom hockey, indoor soccer, and swimming. Intramurals are fun and festive — we even crown champions every year.

On weekends, you can take a shuttle to nearby towns to catch a movie, go shopping, or check out the coffee shops and restaurants. There also are occasional trips to cities like New York and Boston for museums, performances, and a slice of city life.

On campus, weekend nights mean movies, dances, concerts, theatrical and dance performances, festivals, and other fun. Dorms and student organizations host special events like International Carnival, Spirit Week, Dwight Night, and other activities.

Our Blake Student Center is home to a snack bar, bookstore, lounge, and student activity space. The Time Out Cafe is the place to grab coffee with friends.

If you’re looking for a spiritual outlet, Shabbat services are held on Friday nights, church services are held Sunday mornings, and transportation is available to local religious services.
