Girls Ice Hockey at NMH

The Northfield Mount Hermon girls’ hockey team plays in the prestigious New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) at the Division I level. NMH has been a proving ground for the development of girls’ ice hockey players who have gone on to play NCAA DI and DIII college hockey.

NMH hockey focuses on player development with its foundation of focused, high intensity practices. Players are run through practices that are designed to improve player and team weaknesses while emphasizing hard work and the joy of competing. The team works out in the on-campus weight room twice a week and also watches game video on a weekly basis. NMH hockey is defined by hard work, resilience, and the love of the game.

NMH’s head coach is Kirsti Hussey, who most recently served as an assistant coach of the Brown University women’s ice hockey team, and helped guide the program to its most successful stretch in five years. Prior to her time at Brown University, Hussey served for three seasons as the head coach of the girls’ ice hockey team for St. Mark’s School. Hussey inherited a team that was struggling to compete, and in a very short period of time, led the program to its best finish in NEPSAC Division I in over fifteen years.
