Northfield Mount Hermon’s location near the Vermont and New Hampshire borders put us squarely in ski country. We are fortunate to have miles of groomed trails winding through meadows and woodlands on our campus. During brief periods when snow is in short supply, we travel north, ensuring that we get the necessary time on our skis.

Our program welcomes all levels of skiers, from novices to future Olympians. Our teams are consistently competitive among the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council and Lake Region teams, with our prep school season ending with the NEPSAC championships. In addition, individual racers compete in regional events and in the Massachusetts New England Nordic Ski Association Eastern State Championships. 

Victor Feofilaktov serves as the head coach of NMH’s Nordic team, bringing a long history of successful experience to the trails. A successful athlete himself, Feofilaktov has coached since 1998, when he started his career at the Olympic Reserve Sport School in Moscow. He most recently served as the head coach at Glen Falls High School in Glens Falls, New York. Feofilaktov holds a doctorate in performance exercise physiology and is an assistant professor at Franklin Pierce University.
