Sisters Thrive on the Field and the Classroom

Coming from a small town in Vermont, sisters Livie and Katie Clough have made a big impact since arriving at NMH last year. The Cloughs have quickly become key contributors to the field hockey program, most recently helping NMH secure a win over Exeter, with Livie, a junior goalie, earning a shutout and Katie scoring the game-winning goal.

Livie, a team captain, has become a cornerstone of the NMH field hockey program. Her leadership, composure, and academic focus set the tone for the team both on and off the field. As she begins her college search, Livie is looking toward academically rigorous schools where she can continue to compete at the collegiate level. “NMH has allowed me to grow as a person in and out of the classroom and as an athlete,” she says. “The academics and competitive field hockey in the NEPSAC has helped me decide which academic and athletic path I would like to pursue in the future.”

Livie’s younger sister, Katie, a sophomore, is already making a name for herself as a versatile and determined athlete. She aspires to play in a Division 1 program and, has attended numerous ID camps and showcases   to challenge herself against some of the top  competition at her age. “Playing field hockey at   NMH has expanded my competition level, allowing me to play with some of the best players in New England, and making me excited for the journey to come,” she says.

While their goals are different, the sisters are united by their work ethic, competitive spirit, and appreciation for the opportunities that NMH has provided them. “They give their all every day, both in the classroom and on the field,” says Coach Kelsey Roberts-Gammie. “Beyond that, they are remarkable individuals who will leave a positive mark wherever they go after NMH.”
