Ophelia’s rowing journey began when she was just 10 years old, attending boarding school in England and learning to row on the storied waters of Dorney Lake. Since then she has raced at some of the top regattas including the Canadian Henley, New Englands and the Head of the Charles. In recent years, Ophelia has turned her focus to coastal rowing and beach sprints. She captured a national title in the single, earned a bronze medal in the double and qualified for three boats for the upcoming World Championships in Türkiye this November.

When asked why she chose NMH, Ophelia lights up. She says she was drawn to the welcoming community and the chance to be seen as more than just a rower. “I loved that I wasn’t defined solely by my sport here,” she says. “I chose NMH for its rowing program, the opportunities it provides, and the academic schedule, which allows me to stay committed to my training.”
Now in her first season with the NMH crew, Ophelia is finding her stride both on and off the water. “ Ophelia is doing a great job balancing her training for Worlds with integrating into a new team culture,” says Coach Clare Knowlton. “She’s open-minded and; hardworking, and we’re so glad she chose NMH.”
With Worlds on the horizon, Ophelia is ready to make waves and proudly represent NMH and Team USA on the global stage.
