In 2007 she created a site-specific project for the military ruins of Lovells Island in Boston Harbor, commissioned by the ICA Boston. Recently she completed "Just a Rumor," a large painting commission at UMass Amherst, as well as a set-design for Ivy Baldwin Dance at the Chocolate Factory Theater in New York.

Anna has been a visiting artist/lecturer at MIT, Brown, Smith, RISD, the New School, Brandeis, Pratt, the University of Michigan, Syracuse, McGill University, and Bowdoin College, and a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard. In 2006 she was named a MacArthur Fellow.

In 2012 she completed her second set-design for dance at New York Live Arts, in which her drawing became part of the choreography, and she also served as visiting artist at the Eastman School of Music, participating in the Benson Forum on Creativity. In 2013 she was a member of the Arctic Circle expedition to the North Pole, testing a new drawing method using eye-tracking devices.
