Michael Hardy ’72

The late Michael Hardy ’72 was a founding member of the National Action Network, one of the country’s leading civil rights organizations. For more than 25 years, he served as general counsel to the network and to its founder, the Rev. Al Sharpton, playing a key role in the organization’s legal strategy and advocacy efforts. A respected voice on issues of social justice, Hardy worked on landmark cases and community initiatives focused on equity, civil rights, and police accountability, and his dedication to justice shaped national conversations on race and reform. He passed away in 2024.
