Model United Nations

Students in NMH’s Model UN group attend multiple regional conferences, where they participate in international-relations simulations with other students from New England. The student “delegates” learn how the United Nations, as well as NGOs, the International Criminal Court, and organizations such as the World Health Organization, work. In the process, they develop skills in public speaking, negotiation, teamwork, leadership, and crafting policy.

The highlight of the year is Harvard Model United Nations, a four-day conference held every January in Boston. NMH’s team joins thousands of other students from around the world to debate important international issues and work together to craft creative solutions. The program’s goals — which align with NMH’s mission and values — are to encourage students to think critically about the world around them, to engage in constructive dialogue, and to work together to develop solutions to pressing global problems.
