Language Immersion: France

French Language Immersion and Service-Learning

In Rennes, France

On NMH’s three-week summer travel program in Rennes, France, you’ll advance your French skills in an immersive environment, making meaningful connections with local people and service organizations.

You’ll be matched with a host family, who will be screened and selected by our partner organization, the nonprofit Council on International Educational Exchange. Every morning, you’ll take part in engaging language classes. On some afternoons, you’ll take part in service projects with local groups. Other days, you’ll enjoy excursions to places like the island of Mont-Saint-Michel, in Normandy; the historic port city of Saint Malo; and, of course, Paris!

You’ll also immerse yourself in local culture, from museum trips to cooking classes, shopping to a visit to the French parliament.

And there’ll be time to explore Rennes, a scenic 15th-century city in Brittany known for its arts, culture, and festivals.
