Deadline to apply (including submitting all supporting materials):

For financial aid applicants: March 1, 2023, noon

All other applicants: June 1, 2023, noon

Please note: Although there are deadlines, we encourage families to apply ASAP, as classes fill up quickly. This is why it's also important to list second and third-choice courses on your application.

Once all completed application paperwork is submitted, parents and students should receive a decision by email within a few days.

Financial aid applicants will be notified of our decisions by email by March 15.

Information for International Students

International participants in our program may travel on a B1/B2 tourist/visitor visa or without a visa if from a visa-waiver country. An F-1 student visa is not required to attend Northfield Mount Hermon Summer Session.

TOEFL scores are not required as part of the application. Students in the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) will take a placement test the day after they arrive at NMH. (We offer seven levels of instruction, from beginning to advanced.)

International students applying for non-ESOL classes must provide a graded essay written for their current English class. It must show the teacher’s grade and handwritten comments.

Each year, about 170 boarders and 40 day students attend Summer Session.
