Visual Arts

Be inspired on your creative journey by your teachers, fellow students, and visiting artists

There are lots of ways you can explore your interest in the visual arts at NMH, whether in class or through cocurricular options in areas like ceramics, watercolor, digital drawing, sculpture, and plein art painting.

Our dynamic visual arts program is based in the Rhodes Arts Center, or RAC, with classrooms and studios for ceramics, design, drawing, painting, printmaking, and digital photography, along with a traditional photography darkroom. The Gallery at the Rhodes Arts Center regularly features the work of visual artists, from nationally recognized artists as well as NMH students and faculty.

Our arts teachers are themselves accomplished artists, who work on their own art right alongside you in the RAC, fostering a sense of true artistic community. NMH visual arts are also on proud display in Mandala, our student-edited art and literary magazine.
