Youngest female chief to serve on US side of Mohawk Reservation.
Head of School's Welcome
On behalf of my colleagues and the students of Northfield Mount Hermon, I'm happy to welcome you to our website.
While it serves only as a window into the wondrous teaching and learning that occurs here at NMH, I'm confident that this glimpse will portray a community that "engages the intellect, compassion, and talents of our students, empowering them to act with humanity and purpose."
Our commitment to this mission is as evident now as it was more than 130 years ago, when D.L. Moody founded two schools in these beautiful hills to educate young men and women from this country and around the world. How we go about educating our students has, appropriately, changed over the past century to meet the needs of students in an ever-shifting educational climate. The reason we exist as a school has not.
We educate the heads, hearts, and hands of our students. The stories they tell of their experiences, as Northfield alumnae, Mount Hermon alumni, as NMH graduates of two campuses or as residents of our current consolidated campus, resonate in and between these proud buildings above the Connecticut River.
I hope you enjoy meandering through our website, and I invite you to step onto campus to see the real work and joy of teaching and learning. What happens inside our classrooms and gymnasiums, across the fields and on our stages, on our farm and out in the world, is as unique and magical as our campus setting. I look forward to seeing you here.
