Chief Financial Officer

Northfield Mount Hermon, seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to support the ongoing growth and development of this fine school. The successful candidate will oversee a team of six direct reports and will create, map, communicate, and implement short- and long-term strategies to address the financial needs of NMH in collaboration with the school’s leadership. The CFO will be an experienced manager, creative leader, and effective communicator who respects and honors NMH’s traditions while recognizing opportunities for innovative initiatives.

The School is most interested in candidates who demonstrate the following qualities and qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

10-plus years of financial and business leadership.

Experience on senior administrative teams and working with non-profit boards; independent school experience a plus.

Demonstrated experience in measuring and improving organization-wide productivity.

Demonstrated experience in the development of analysis for strategic decision-making, such as key cost drivers, competitive analysis, market analysis, organizational strengths and weaknesses, etc.

Demonstrated ability to take complex subjects, distill them, and then communicate them to a varied audience.

Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement

This is a new position that is responsible for developing and managing strategic programming to engage the alumni, parent and friend networks with a purpose. Working closely with the full Advancement Director’s team, this position will deliberately partner with the Director of the Alumni and Parent Giving team to create an integrated and complementary set of programs between engagement and giving. NMH is eager to develop and execute an alumni and parent engagement program that has clearly defined goals, metrics, and serves to clarify, illustrate and promote our philosophy of community engagement and involvement. This position will be an architect and ambassador of growing engagement, and will bring a sophisticated approach to understanding the purpose and place for constituent engagement within advancement and independent school cultures. This work will be informed by data, best practices, key internal leaders and stakeholders, alumni volunteer groups, alumni and parent leadership groups, and the advancement leadership team. The Director will build and sustain strong relationships with volunteers and will manage the Alumni Council, an active and engaged group of volunteers who have strong loyalty and connection with NMH and provide an active vehicle for involving alumni in the life of the school and in its vision for the future.

Per Diem Nurse - Weekend & Overnight

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an experienced nurse to provide nursing care to the NMH student community. The position is responsible for patient assessments and treatment plans according to medical and health services guidelines, referring students to the school’s physician as appropriate. All nursing staff assists in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date medical records.

The successful applicant will have an RN or LPN degree and current Massachusetts license; previous emergency, adolescent or family medicine experience preferred; outstanding organizational, written and communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills essential. The ability to administer medications according to guidelines is required. Additional qualifications include attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently in an overnight capacity. Campus Services - Lead Custodian

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to coordinate with the Assistant Director of Campus Service to ensure that all daily and special event custodial support requirements are assigned and carried out to departmental standards. This position has regular and special event assigned duties and is expected to have a broad knowledge and ability to carry out all aspects of custodial responsibilities. The Custodial Lead supports the Assistant Director in implementing and coordinating custodial work and assumes responsibility for the custodial crew operations.

The successful applicant will have the ability to motivate, lead and communicate effectively with management, co-workers, and customers. Five or more years previous experience in custodial or maintenance background required, prior supervisory experience is preferred. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. A demonstrated knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and knowledge of MSDS are required. Familiarity and knowledge of green cleaning methodologies and LEED procedures is a plus. This position requires the ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks. Occasional overtime may be required. A valid driver’s license is required for this position

Director of Alumni and Parent Giving

This senior position is responsible for developing and managing the annual fund (called the NMH Fund), strategic leadership annual giving, and reunion giving programs to create a vibrant and growing unrestricted giving program from alumni, parents and friends. Working closely with the full Advancement Director’s team, this position will closely partner with the Director of the Alumni and Parent Engagement team to create an integrated and complementary set of programs between engagement and giving. This position will design a roadmap to increase NMH Fund giving from all constituents to $5M+ per year and will do so through ensuring that the leadership annual giving officers and parent giving officers have clearly defined targets and metrics, and the tools and support to develop new donors, upgraded donors, and retained donors at all levels of the Fund pyramid. This position will be an architect and ambassador of growing the case for support for NMH Fund giving and will being a sophisticated and data-driven approach to ensuring annual fund growth and success. This position will also be responsible for continuing to shape the future giving and peer outreach potential of the strong and impressive NMH volunteer networks including reunion committees, Alumni Council, Advancement Committees, and parent fundraising volunteers.

Electrician

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an individual to be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical equipment and devices in or on all buildings owned and maintained by NMH. Primary responsibilities include the ability to wire residential and commercial buildings; read electrical diagrams and schematics; troubleshoot wiring problems from 12 to 480 volts and understand fire alarm and life safety systems.

The successful applicant will have a Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician's License or an apprentice who is currently enrolled in the Massachusetts licensing program and is looking to advance as a Journeyman Electrician. Early Childhood Education - Floater/Substitute Teacher

Executive Chef

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to assist in the production of food for a residential dining community. This includes assisting in the preparation of meals, menus, operational development and efficiency in support of NMH Dining Services and other outside clients. Responsibilities include, hiring, training, supervision and performance management of the cooking staff as well as management of recipes and daily menu planning. This position works closely with the purchasing department to ensure the execution of scheduled meals and recommends changes in product or procedure to improve quality, productivity, cost effectiveness and efficiency. The Executive Chef acts as the Special Functions Chef in planning and executing special events and acts as a liaison to the Dining Services Menu Committee.

The successful applicant will have a high school diploma or culinary school equivalent; minimum 5 years in culinary leadership position. Supervisory experience and previous experience working in an institutional/restaurant environment required. ServSafe Food Safety Certification is required. Digital Communications Coordinator

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an accomplished communications professional to create and maintain content and make structural updates to the school website. The Digital Communications Coordinator is the campus expert on web CMS — we use Finalsite Composer — answering questions and providing staff training as needed.

This position:

  • Coordinates and produces e-newsletters, blast emails, and other electronic communications to parents, students, alumni, and other constituents,
  • Oversees and produces e-documents for annual student enrollment/re-enrollment,
  • Formats, standardizes, and uploads documents and multimedia assets for web use,
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues, other school departments, and outside vendors.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Degree or diploma in a tech or related field,
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in creating and managing a wide spectrum of web-based content in a communications-intensive setting,
  • Experience working in cross-platform environments,
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. (Some proofing/editing experience is preferred.)
  • Attention to detail and quality control is a must.
  • Intermediate capabilities with G Suite, HTML, CSS, and other common web-design languages; Finalsite Composer; Blackbaud; and Naviance.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of web communication technologies is essential.
  • Knowledge of popular CMS functionality, Google SEO, Adobe Photoshop CS6 and/or CC, Javascript, Blogger, digital rights and access management, and Google Analytics a plus.
