Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to assist in meal preparation for the NMH community and customers. This position is responsible for the preparation, service and presentation of all meals according to established policies and procedures relating to: food quality, service, portion control and sanitation.

The successful applicant will have a high school diploma or more and 3-5 years of previous food preparation experience in an institutional/restaurant environment. ServSafe Food Safety Certification is required. Additional qualifications include outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. Love of food and cooking is also a plus! NMH dining services staff work closely with our students, the ability to work effectively with and instruct adolescents in the preparation and service of meals is essential. Must be able to work weekends and overtime.

Groundskeeper

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to maintain the safety and physical appearance of the athletic facilities including the hockey rink and pool facility and at times, assist with the outdoor campus landscape. Other responsibilities include support and the collection and disposal of rubbish, recycling and surplus materials for the school and other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant must be able to acquire and maintain licenses needed for pest control in the turf industry; previous athletic field & grounds maintenance experience is preferred; the ability to work in adverse weather conditions is required. Successful applicants will have outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. The ability to work well with adolescents is required. This position requires: the ability to lift approximately 75 pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks, a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a DOT, 2B and 1C hoisting license is required. Flexibility in weekly work schedule, some scheduled weekend work as well as overtime is required and must be available for 24-hour emergency call for snow removal.

Lifeguard

Pre-School Teacher

Director of Alumni and Parent Giving

This senior position is responsible for developing and managing the annual fund (called the NMH Fund), strategic leadership annual giving, and reunion giving programs to create a vibrant and growing unrestricted giving program from alumni, parents and friends. Working closely with the full Advancement Director’s team, this position will closely partner with the Director of the Alumni and Parent Engagement team to create an integrated and complementary set of programs between engagement and giving. This position will design a roadmap to increase NMH Fund giving from all constituents to $5M+ per year and will do so through ensuring that the leadership annual giving officers and parent giving officers have clearly defined targets and metrics, and the tools and support to develop new donors, upgraded donors, and retained donors at all levels of the Fund pyramid. This position will be an architect and ambassador of growing the case for support for NMH Fund giving and will being a sophisticated and data-driven approach to ensuring annual fund growth and success. This position will also be responsible for continuing to shape the future giving and peer outreach potential of the strong and impressive NMH volunteer networks including reunion committees, Alumni Council, Advancement Committees, and parent fundraising volunteers.

The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and 7+ years experience in advancement and giving programs. Candidates must have superior interpersonal skills and exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to apply good judgement and decision making skills and maintain confidentiality is required. Assistant Advisor Internship, Upward Bound

Advancement Program & Data Specialist

The Advancement office at Northfield Mount Hermon is looking to fill a campaign position that will work with the Director of Advancement Strategy and Analysis to define, design, and build reporting that will enhance Advancement management and decision making. The person in this role will also be responsible for the timely preparation of all mailing, email, and other lists and for building, testing, and sending all bulk emails. In all situations, the Advancement Program & Data Specialist will work closely with the Senior Associate Director of Advancement Services to ensure consistency and quality of work.

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher; data analysis experience, preferably in a fundraising environment; and at least 2 years experience with data analysis tools, ideally with experience writing SQL select statements. Candidates must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to formulate data queries and utilize online, print, and other resources to gather information. Academic Advisor - Upward Bound

The Upward Bound Program at Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dedicated individual to work with high school students to reach their goal of getting into college. Upward Bound is a college preparation program for low-income and first-generation college bound youth, which is funded by the Department of Education. Advisors provide academic year outreach to high school students in Springfield, Holyoke or Franklin County public schools and work closely with students and families to ensure that students are preparing to get into college and succeed once they are there. This involves advising students with course selection, providing tutoring when needed, helping with every step of college and financial aid applications, teaching after school enrichment lessons, organizing and leading college trips, and planning program events. Advisors also play an intricate role in planning and running our 6-week residential Summer Academy on the NMH campus.

The ideal applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree and teaching or counseling experience with youth who are educationally and economically marginalized; a passion for educational opportunity and a strong academic background; familiarity with the schools and communities in Franklin County and Holyoke; knowledge of the college application process; outstanding organizational, computer, written and communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills. The position requires a significant amount of travel between the office in Gill and target high schools. Candidates must have a reliable vehicle and a safe driving record, and willingness to transport students in a small van. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. Bilingual (Spanish-English) ability also helpful.
