Custodian

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to carry-out campus custodial services. Responsibilities include general cleaning, floor cleaning, rubbish and recycling removal, building maintenance, the provision of occasional set-up and moving services for the school and school events, and other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, and outstanding organizational and communication skills. Two to three years previous experience preferred. The ability to communicate and work well with adolescents is required. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. This position requires the ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks. General Services Assistant - Campus Services

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to provide service and support to our customers and multiple school departments. Responsibilities include the delivery of materials, furnishings and equipment required for the setup and execution of the school’s educational program, events and other school needs. This position is also responsible for providing support as necessary for other plant facilities daily services departments; including the laundry, post-office and custodial.

The successful applicant will have outstanding interpersonal skills, organizational and communication skills; detail oriented; the ability to work a flexible schedule and the knowledge or ability to learn how to safely operate equipment related to responsibilities across campus services departments; training is provided.  Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. Major Gift Officer - Advancement Office

 

The NMH Advancement Office is looking for a  motivated development professional to serve in an important fundraising role in securing philanthropic revenue for NMH and expanding donor support. Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the  Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of current and prospective alumni and parent donors; creating strategic action plans for top prospects with the intent of deepening relationships on behalf of NMH.  This work will lead to increased comprehensive giving including annual, capital, and deferred gifts. This position requires decisiveness and judgment, discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information, and excellent goal and task management.

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and at least 3 years of fundraising experience, including skills/experience relevant to securing leadership annual gifts and/or major gifts which can include frontline fundraising, financial advising and estate planning; knowledge of contemporary philanthropy and the vehicles available to individuals to achieve their philanthropic goals preferred.  Candidates must have outstanding organizational, technical, oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products preferred and experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable fundraising software is highly desired. Candidates should be active listeners who are curious, decisive, and able to go beyond routine questions to gain in-depth understanding of needs and projects. Lead General Services Assistant - Dining Services

Under the direction of the Dining Services Manager the Lead GSA will supervisor staff and students while performing routine manual work such as the cleaning of food production equipment, dining rooms, offices,  and storage areas in support of a residential dining program and auxiliary programs.

Substitute Teachers - Bolger Center for Early Childhood Education

Assistant Director for Maintenance

 

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to manage in-house related maintenance, repair, and upkeep of campus buildings and building systems. This position will oversee projects  from design through construction, including plan development, cost estimates and bid process, and project implementation. The Assistant Director of Maintenance will provide general administrative oversight of the Plant Facilities trades group; ensure the effective and efficient utilization of resources including budget development and tracking.

The successful applicant will have any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities; experience/background in a trades area (electrical, HVAC/plumbing, carpentry) preferred. Candidates should have 3-5 years of supervisor experience, working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and be proficient in record keeping and report writing.  Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently.  Ability to work flexible hours and be on call, some weekend work required.

GSA Maintenance Specialist

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic individual to perform routine manual work in the cleaning of food production equipment, dining rooms, offices, restrooms, and storage areas in support of a residential dining program. The position operates and maintains all applicable equipment, maintains sanitary conditions and assists with the deliveries, and other support for campus catered events. The GSA Maintenance Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining all tables and chairs in the dining hall, and maintenance of equipment used in food service operation.

The successful applicant will have previous custodial/dishwashing experience; outstanding organizational and communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills. Carpentry skills required. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to be DOT certified. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently.  This position works closely with and supervises NMH students therefore the ability to work with and interact effectively with adolescents is required.
