Custodian

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to carry-out campus custodial services. Responsibilities include general cleaning, floor cleaning, rubbish and recycling removal, building maintenance, the provision of occasional set-up and moving services for the school and school events, and other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, and outstanding organizational and communication skills. Two to three years previous experience preferred. The ability to communicate and work well with adolescents is required. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. This position requires the ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks. Occasional overtime may be required.Applicants must possess a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents and to work with a diverse student body in a boarding school environment.

Advancement Program & Data Specialist

The Advancement office at Northfield Mount Hermon is looking to fill a campaign position that will work with the Director of Advancement Strategy and Analysis to define, design, and build reporting that will enhance Advancement management and decision making. The person in this role will also be responsible for the timely preparation of all mailing, email, and other lists and for building, testing, and sending all bulk emails. In all situations, the Advancement Program & Data Specialist will work closely with the Senior Associate Director of Advancement Services to ensure consistency and quality of work.

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher; data analysis experience, preferably in a fundraising environment; and at least 2 years experience with data analysis tools, ideally with experience writing SQL select statements. Candidates must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to formulate data queries and utilize online, print, and other resources to gather information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products is essential and experience with Raiser’s Edge, Crystal Reports, and HTML would be helpful. Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently.

Mail Clerk/Custodian/GSA

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to help process incoming and outgoing U.S. and inter-campus mail in the school’s mail center and provide service and support to NMH school departments. Primary responsibilities include providing counter service at the mail center for resident students and faculty and the intercampus delivery of departmental mail. Additional duties include delivering the materials, furnishings and equipment required for the setup and execution of the school’s educational program, events and other school needs. This position is also responsible for providing support for campus custodial services. Custodial responsibilities include general cleaning, floor cleaning, rubbish and recycling removal, building maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will have outstanding interpersonal, organizational, written and communication skills, and possess excellent attention to detail/accuracy required for managing the mail and cashiering responsibilities of the position. The ability to work a flexible schedule is required as is the knowledge or ability to learn how to safely operate equipment related to responsibilities across campus services; training is provided.

Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work well with adolescents is required. This position requires the ability to move/lift up to 70 pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks, a valid driver’s license is required. Volunteer Manager - Advancement Office

This is a new position within Advancement responsible for developing and managing strategic volunteer engagement to help achieve NMH Advancement goals in engagement and giving with both parents and alumni. The Volunteer Manager is responsible for liaising with and coordinating NMH’s robust and diverse alumni and parent volunteer network, including reunion volunteers, regional volunteers, class secretaries, class committees, and parent volunteers. The Volunteer Manager will work closely with others within the department to sustain, strengthen and manage volunteer entities’ relationships with the school while aligning volunteer skills and interests with Advancement goals. The Volunteer Manager will serve as the primary contact for the majority of Advancement volunteers and, with the Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement, will co-create a vision, scale, and framework for an effective volunteer management system.

The successful applicant will have 5+ years experience in client services, account management, customer service management, nonprofit management, or volunteer management. Experience in philanthropy, advancement, engagement, alumni and parent relations settings preferred and work experience in an educational setting is beneficial. Candidates should be positive, ambitious, organized and energetic. This position requires discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information. The ideal candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, able to work on multiple projects, creative and flexible. Advancement Executive Assistant

 

The Executive Assistant is key member of NMH’s fundraising leadership team who provides primary administrative support for the Chief Advancement Officer in implementing a broad range of activities. This is a full-time position for a positive, energetic, well-organized individual who has office and client management experience. The Executive Assistant serves as an executive partner, office manager, special projects lead, and administrative lead for Advancement. Duties include scheduling meetings and appointments on and off-campus, coordinating travel, fielding calls, and drafting and editing correspondence. Additionally, this position manages administrative needs for all CAO assigned prospects as well as providing administrative support that facilitates and advances the fundraising activities for other senior leaders at NMH. The position requires leadership and professional maturity, discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information, and experience managing operational team support in an exciting and demanding work environment.

The successful applicant will have 5-8 years or more of executive assistant or office management. Experience in professional and correspondence-oriented writing, analytical thinking in building presentations and executive memos and reports, and executive level scheduling and administrative support is required. Understanding the workings of an educational institution and advancement is highly preferred. This position requires decisiveness and judgment, discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information, and excellent goal and task management.

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and at least 3 years of fundraising experience, including skills/experience relevant to securing leadership annual gifts and/or major gifts which can include frontline fundraising, financial advising and estate planning; knowledge of contemporary philanthropy and the vehicles available to individuals to achieve their philanthropic goals preferred.  Candidates must have outstanding organizational, technical, oral and written communication skills.
