Northfield Mount Hermon is dedicated to excellence in teaching and holds high academic standards for its faculty.

Of the approximately 100 teaching faculty members, 70 percent hold advanced degrees; their average teaching experience is 20 years. Applicants should be able to contribute to all aspects of the school community, as reflected by the normal faculty workload that includes a combination of classroom teaching, student advising, coaching, and dormitory supervision.

Applicants should be committed to making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents, willing to embrace the challenges of boarding-school life, and excited about innovative methods in secondary education. Candidates should possess a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives and learning of adolescents, experience in diversity work, and an eagerness to work with a diverse student body in a boarding-school environment.
