Northfield Mount Hermon is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory school, located in western Massachusetts, with approximately 650 boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12, and a postgraduate year.
NMH employs approximately 130 people in teaching and administrative faculty positions, and more than 210 in staff positions. Some jobs are year-round; others offer an academic-year schedule or are part-time. Custodian

Bookkeeper

Northfield Mount Hermon, seeks a trustworthy, self-motivated individual to be responsible for diverse duties in maintaining accounting records. This position requires a general understanding of accounting principles. Under the supervision of the Controller, the staff accountant will post entries from a wide variety of sources into ledgers. This position will reconcile bank statements, monitor schedules for prepaids, receivable, bonds payable, securities and interest, cross check, make comparisons, and balance accounts. Additional duties include assisting with the accurate and timely dissemination of internal monthly financial reports and annual audits; managing inventory by maintaining and updating records; and assisting with accounts payable processing. Work may include backing up other functions within the accounting department.
The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree; 2+ years of accounting experience. Candidates must possess outstanding analytical, organizational, and detail oriented skills. Groundskeeper

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an energetic individual to maintain the safety and physical appearance of the grounds and athletic facilities including the hockey rink and pool facility. Other responsibilities include collection and disposal of rubbish, recycling and surplus materials for the school, and other duties as assigned. This position will also provide support to the general service department as needed.
Successful applicants will have outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. The successful applicant must be able to acquire and maintain licenses needed for pest control in the turf industry; previous athletic field & grounds maintenance experience is preferred; the ability to work in adverse weather conditions is required. This position requires: the ability to lift 75-100 pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks, a valid driver’s license is required. The ability to obtain a DOT, 2B and 1C hoisting license within one year of employment is required. Flexibility in weekly work schedule, some scheduled weekend work as well as overtime is required and must be available for 24-hour emergency call for snow removal.

Communication Program Associate

Working in the Office of Communications, the Program Associate coordinates tasks and details necessary for supporting workflow across the Communications office. Responsibilities include scheduling and trafficking all communication efforts, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule, and serving as a project liaison between communications, internal client office and external vendors. Additionally this position oversees the Office of Communications calendar and scheduling systems, which includes preparing list requests, print order forms, copy deadlines, and production. This position will provide final proofing of, and obtain final approval and distribution of, web content, e-blasts, mailings and other printed materials.
The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years or more of office management or related experience. Experience in professional and correspondence-oriented writing and strong editing and proofreading skills required. Understanding the workings of an educational institution and communications is highly preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of budgets and finance management and possess a willingness to learn, adopt and engage with new technologies and platforms, is required. Proficiency with Mac operating system, and Google G Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) software, and Blackbaud and Basecamp experience preferred. Assistant Director of Human Resources

Northfield Mount Hermon is looking for a highly motivated and experienced development professional to join our human resources’ team. Reporting to the Director, this position works collaboratively with the director to provide leadership, direction, and administration in all areas of the human resources function. This position’s primary responsibility will be directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.), and leaves of absence programs. Systems Data Analyst

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic self-starter to provide expertise in databases, information architecture, and software design to support advanced data management for the school community. The Systems Data Analyst is responsible for remaining current with data technologies appropriate to an educational and administrative environment. This position works closely with others to ensure NMH’s cloud-based environments are integrated and serve the needs of the institution. Following database administration best practices, the Analyst develops custom solutions when necessary and extends existing resources when appropriate. The Analyst provides support for enterprise-level data operations including database security, problem resolution, reporting, documentation and configuration.
We’re looking for people who have the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Science or Data Science and a minimum of three years experience; a minimum of 3 years successfully developing multi-user software using .NET programming – web interface, Visual Basic, IIS, and MS Access VBA; 3 years’ experience with version control and issue tracking systems (e.g., cvs, Git, Jira).
Additional requirements include strong attention to detail, advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows, expertise with business intelligence platforms, and strong proficiency in coding with scripting languages. Familiarity with Blackbaud or Technolutions Slate preferred. Occasional night and weekend work may be required to ensure IT operations.

Philanthropy Officer (International/Family Giving)

The Philanthropy Officer (International/Family Giving) will organize and steward programs related to international alumni and families, as well as domestic families. They will be a seasoned fundraising professional, experienced in international fundraising, with the ability to organize an effective engagement and fundraising strategy that supports the Head of School, Chief Advancement Officer, Advancement colleagues, and other Senior Leadership of the School.
This position will be responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a diverse portfolio of international prospects and donors. Additionally this position will develop and manage the school’s Family Council, scheduling quarterly meetings, developing agendas, and engaging school leadership in partnership with volunteer leadership.
The successful applicant will have a Bachelor's degree or higher and 4+ years of related experience with a strong focus on major gifts and/or the international market. Experience developing annual strategies for engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of international alumni, along with domestic and international families. Per Diem Nurse

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks an experienced nurse to provide nursing care to the NMH student community. The position is responsible for patient assessments and treatment plans according to medical and health services guidelines, referring students to the school’s physician as appropriate. All nursing staff assist in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date medical records.
The successful applicant will have an RN or LPN degree and current Massachusetts license; previous emergency, adolescent or family medicine experience preferred; outstanding organizational, written and communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills essential. The ability to administer medications according to guidelines is required. Associate Director, NMH Fund

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a positive and dynamic individual to help execute the strategy and activity needed to secure donations to the NMH Fund. The Associate Director is a member of the NMH Fund department and plays a key role as an internal revenue driver, responsible for helping to plan and execute the strategy and activity needed to acquire, renew, and upgrade NMH Fund donors. The Associate Director will work to cultivate, solicit, and steward annual giving prospects among our alumni, parents, and friends, and grow membership in the Loyalty Circle giving societies.
This position is not a travel position but requires critical customer service, relationship building and excellent donor relations skills. This role will have high volume activity goals for calls, emails, and digital outreach and will be measured by both activity and conversion of outreach to gift activity.

Part Time Administrative Assistant - Performing Arts

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic self-starter to provide administrative assistance and office support to the Performing Arts department during the academic year. This position will act as a liaison between the performing arts department and other departments on campus, specifically Advancement and Communications. Duties include working closely with students and music teachers to coordinate private music lessons. Additional responsibilities include managing the box office, ticketing and registration for events, assisting with planning and support for programs, fielding telephone calls, managing calendars, schedules, and reservations, word processing, performing support functions and assisting with events and special projects.

Full-time Opening
Northfield Mount Hermon, an independent boarding school in western Massachusetts, seeks a dynamic individual to coordinate student programs. The coordinator reports to the dean of students, collaborates with the campus life team, and works with students and faculty throughout the school to facilitate the planning and implementation of quality social and recreational programs, as well as to provide educational and leadership opportunities for the campus community. The coordinator provides support to other offices and programs, including the official of multicultural affairs, dean of student life, dorm heads, affinity group advisors, and class advisors in the development and administration of student activities for
their respective groups. The coordinator also oversees the daily operations of the campus student center.
The successful candidate will have a background in events or community programming, preferably in a boarding school environment, and at least two years’ administrative experience involving budget oversight and contract negotiation. Candidates must also possess strong technical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidates are expected to have experience in equity and inclusion work that supports a diverse community in a boarding school environment. They should also have a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree; candidates who can coach an interscholastic team or participate in other aspects of the educational program are encouraged to apply.
