John taught for four years at Trinity-Pawling School in New York before coming to NMH in 2005. He also coached at Whitney Young Magnet High School in the Chicago Public League and taught at Tilton School, his alma mater. John attended Grinnell College where he was a four-year starter and a First-Team All-Midwest Conference selection in 1998.

John attended Grinnell College where he was a four-year starter and a First-Team All-Midwest Conference selection in 1998.
John is also the defensive coordinator for the varsity football team and teaches mathematics. He lives in Upper North Crossley with his wife Laura, a graduate student in environmental education.
