Upward Bound Program
Upward Bound is a college preparation program for low-income, first-generation college-bound youth that is funded by the US Department of Education. The program is celebrating its 40th year at Northfield Mount Hermon School. The mission of Upward Bound is to provide youth with the tools to be successful in high school and in higher education. Upward Bound provides intensive academic and social support to students from Greenfield High School, Turners Falls High School, Holyoke High School, Springfield Central High School, Springfield Renaisssance School, and the High School of Science and Technology in Springfield. Services include a six-week intensive Summer Academy and year-round tutoring, advising, after-school programs, test preparation, college and financial aid application assistance, cultural trips, college visits, career exploration, and leadership development.
