NMH Upward Bound Information Sessions
The Northfield Mount Hermon Upward Bound Program is currently recruiting 9th grade students from your school. The program is a federally funded year round college preparation program for students who meet income eligibility or whose parents do not have a bachelor’s degree. Students who are accepted receive free services including tutoring, academic advising, after school classes, college and financial aid application assistance in their local high schools until they graduate. Participants also spend six weeks each summer in a residential program on the Northfield Mount Hermon campus where they take classes, receive tutoring, go on college and cultural trips, participate in college preparation activities as well as recreational activities. Students who are selected for and complete the Upward Bound Program have had a very high rate of college admittance, usually with good financial aid packages. Applications are available in the guidance offices at each school and on our website.
Parents and guardians of interested students should come to one of the information sessions to fully understand the benefits and requirements involved. Students and parent/guardians who attend one of these sessions will be given priority in the selection process.
