Information Technology at NMH
NMH has been a leader in academic technology since the 1970s. Our students and teachers use award-winning technology in classrooms, libraries, and dorms. Each student at NMH has access to a broad range of computer technology for class assignments, research, and communication.
NMH's nationally recognized educational technology program raises the standard for combining computers with a world-class curriculum.
Students at NMH enjoy a rich environment that allows them to become involved with technology at many levels. In addition to using computers in and out of class, the school offers students who are particularly interested in technology exciting opportunities to continue their exploration among peers who share their interest.
Leading-Edge Systems
Our campus-wide network connects every student room, classroom, lounge, and office at the school. Students use this network to connect to the Internet and the World Wide Web.
The Virtual Desktop: Using this innovative technology, students have personalized access to a variety of software tools and information resources, but without the inconvenience of carrying their computers with them. NMH students are able to approach any computer on campus (or nearly any computer in the world), log on, and immediately see and interact with their own personal desktop and the school-provided software. NMH calls this a virtual desktop. Students can access e-mail, personal documents, and school software through from campus or from home.
SWIS (School-Wide Information Service): the school's e-mail and conferencing system. Hundreds of conferences are used daily by NMH students, faculty, and administration to communicate school news, complete and turn in class assignments, and share ideas.
