Francesca is in her 24th year of coaching and her fifth year as head coach of the NMH girls’ varsity lacrosse and field hockey teams. She has turned around both NMH programs and has coached more than 24 NMH athletes in field hockey and lacrosse who have gone on to play in college. Prior to NMH, Francesca coached at Wilbraham & Monson. She began her coaching career at Yale, as head coach of the women’s lacrosse program; she was also an assistant field hockey coach. During her eight-year tenure at Yale, she led the lacrosse team to two ECAC championships and a seventh-place national ranking. She then moved to University of Massachusetts-Amherst and led that team to the ECAC and Atlantic-10 tournaments. Francesca played lacrosse at Harvard, where she was a two-time All-American; she still holds six Crimson scoring records. She played for 10 years with the U.S. National team and played in three World Cups (earning two golds and one silver). She is a member of the Western Massachusetts Hall of Fame and Eastern Massachusetts Hall of Fame, the New England Lacrosse Hall of Fame, the Harvard University Athletic Hall of Fame, and the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame (Class of 2010). She is also the author of Coaching Women’s Lacrosse: Skills, Drills & Techniques. Francesca lives on campus with her daughters (NMH classes of ’14 and ’17) and is an admission counselor.
