Parents Fund News
Congratulations to all parents whose contributions pushed last year’s Parents Fund $100,000 higher than its goal for a total of $440,000! We have set the bar higher for the 2007-08 Parents Fund with goals of $475,000 and 100 percent parent participation. We can do it! This year we also welcome new cochairs of the Parents Fund, Karen and Reginald Mills, parents of Ahrielle '08.

Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Programs
Chantal DuPuis, former director of the NMH Parent Giving, has stepped up to associate director of alumni and parent giving. “The NMH Parents Fund is now a well-oiled machine and breaking all records,” DuPuis says. “We are ready to address the needs of parents who, in addition to their Parents Fund gifts, want to support special interests or passions related to the academic, residential, spiritual, artistic, or athletic life of their children.” The goal this year is to create opportunities for NMH parents to contribute their time and talent to NMH.

The Parents Fund is part of the NMH Annual Fund and the
NMH 130th Anniversary Campaign. It is an essential component of the school’s operating budget. Gifts from current parents, including alumni, are counted in the Parents Fund. A gift in support of the Parents Fund is an investment in your child’s future and helps the school continue its mission of excellence. Combined with annual contributions from our alumni and friends, the Parents Fund has an immediate impact on the educational experience for which NMH is renowned.

Every gift to the Parents Fund directly affects each student, every day. Parents Fund dollars help underwrite everything from scholarships, up-to-date lab equipment, competitive athletic programs, the arts, and advanced technology to, yes, even keeping on the lights!

A little known fact is that tuition does not cover the full cost of an NMH education. The difference is made up from the endowment and unrestricted gifts by parents, alumni, and friends of the school.  These gifts help to bridge the over $10,000 gap between tuition and the real cost of an NMH education. That is why your gift is so important.

Reaching our Goals
To reach our goals, the Parents Fund seeks to engage parents in a variety of ways: in person through on- and off-campus events and personal visits, by mail and by telephone through our Parent-to-Parent calling programs, and through parent phonathons.

Parent Participation–Every Gift Counts
The Parents Fund is made up of hundreds of gifts in all amounts that collectively have a real and direct impact on the quality of academic, residential, and student life at NMH.  Last year gifts ranged from $5 to $70,000.
