Guidelines: Establishing Named Endowed Funds

Endowments are permanent assets that are invested to provide both current and future revenue streams to support the academic mission of the school. Endowments can be established to provide financial support for scholarships, faculty support, academic programs, athletic and performing arts programs, facilities maintenance, and more.

An investment in the NMH endowment will have a direct and lasting impact in maintaining the school as a healthy and stable organization. We encourage alumni, parents, and friends to consider investing in the school’s endowment by establishing a named fund that will permanently honor the donor or donor’s family member, while helping to provide quality education to students for many years to come.

  • New funds will be established with a signed fund agreement between the donor(s) and NMH.
  • Funds may be established over a five-year pledge period. Donors wishing to establish a fund with a multi-year pledge may do so with a minimum initial gift that is 20 percent of the total amount pledged. From the fund’s inception, approximately 5.5 percent of the income generated each year will be directed as outlined in the fund agreement.
  • In the case of a multi-year pledge, a confirmation of content, stating the terms of the pledge and the timing of pledge payments signed by both the donor and director of finance and administration, is required.
  • Negotiation of the above terms may be considered with final approval by the dean of development and alumni relations and the director of finance and administration.
  • Amounts are based on tuition for domestic students. Please consult a member of the NMH advancement staff for more information regarding scholarships for international students.
