Deerfield Academy is located in western Massachusetts 30 miles north of Springfield and 5 miles south of Greenfield in "Historic Deerfield."

From the South:
Driving to the Academy from the south, take I-91 North to Massachusetts exit 24 and turn right at the end of the exit ramp. Head north on Routes 5 and 10 for five miles, turning left at the "Historic Deerfield" sign onto Main Street. Half a mile on the left is the Academy.

From the North:
Driving from the north, take I-91 South to exit 25, and turn left at the end of the ramp. At the stop sign, turn left onto Routes 5 and 10 and proceed north for approximately four miles. Turn left at the "Historic Deerfield" sign onto Main Street and proceed about a half mile to the Academy.

From the East:
Driving from the east, take I-90 West (the Massachusetts Turnpike) to exit 4. Head north on I-91 and follow "from the south" directions above. Or take Route 2 west to I-91 South and follow "From the North" directions above.

From the West:
Driving from the west, take I-90 East (the Massachusetts Turnpike) to exit 4. Head north on I-91 and follow "From the South" directions above. Or take Route 2 east to I-91 South and follow "From the North" directions above.

From Eastern Massachusetts
Follow Route 2 west to Route 63, then go north on Route 63 for approximately 8 miles to where Route 63 merges with Route 10, then turn left on Route 10 south. Drive 1.7 miles (you will cross over the Connecticut River) and the campus will be on the left.

From I-91
Take Exit 28 in Massachusetts and follow Route 10 north for 2.8 miles; the campus entrance is on the right.

Traveling by car from Boston area:
Take Interstate 93 North for approximately 19 miles.
Take Exit 41. Turn right (east) onto Route 125. Continue on 125 East for about two miles.
Turn right onto Route 28 North. Proceed north about three miles to the Andover campus. (Note: Sections of Route 28 are closed for construction from 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday through October 2004. Follow Detour signs to return to Route 28 and the campus.)
At Bell Tower, turn right at lights onto Salem Street. The Shuman Admission Center is the first building on the right immediately after the Bell Tower. Parking can be found in the rear of the building or on Salem Street.

Driving from Logan Airport:
Leaving Logan, follow signs to Boston via the Sumner Tunnel. Follow signs to get on Interstate 93 North. Proceed on Interstate 93N following directions for "Traveling by car from Boston area."

From Route 495:
Take Exit 41 marked Andover. Proceed south on Route 28 through the town of Andover. Phillips Academy campus is approximately one mile south of the center of town. Immediately before Phillips Academy Bell Tower, turn left at lights onto Salem Street. The Shuman Admission Center is the first building on your right. Parking can be found in rear of building or on Salem Street

From Boston, MA:
(Approximate travel time - 70 minutes)

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike West to Auburn MA (Exit 10)
Go through toll booth, follow signs for 395
Take 395 South to Exit 99
Take a left off the ramp
Go approximately 1/4 mile and bear right onto Chase Road
Marianapolis Preparatory School is located about 500 feet on the right.

From Hartford, CT:
(Approximate travel time - 50 minutes)

Take Route 84 East to Exit 69 (RT. 74)
At the end of the ramp go right onto 74 East
Take 74 East to the intersection of 74 and 44

Take a right off the ramp

From Vermont, Route 91 or areas Northwest
Take Route 2 East to Route 140 North (Exit 24 Westminster/Winchendon), turning left at the end of the exit ramp. Drive approximately three miles to Route 101 North. Turn right onto Route 101 and follow it approximately four miles to the Academy. Turn left onto Pleasant Street. Turn left onto Academy Street. Welcome to Cushing Academy!

From Boston and Logan International Airport
Exit the airport and drive through the Ted Williams Tunnel. When exiting the tunnel, continue on I-90 West for approximately 10 miles to Exit 15, the third tollbooth from the airport. Stay to the right. Take I-95 North for approximately 6.3 miles to Exit 29B. Turn right on to Route 2 West for approximately 39 miles to Route 140 North (Exit 24B Winchendon/Ashburnham). Drive approximately three miles to Route 101 North. Turn right onto Route 101 and follow it approximately four miles to the Academy. Turn left onto Pleasant Street. Turn left onto Academy Street. From Hartford, New York or areas South
Take I-84 from Hartford and travel East to I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike). Follow the Mass Pike East for 10 miles to I-290 East (towards Worcester) to I-190 North (towards Fitchburg). From I-190 North take Route 2 West to Route 140 North (Exit 24B Winchendon/Ashburnham). Drive approximately three miles to Route 101 North. Turn right onto Route 101 and follow it approximately four miles to the Academy. Turn left onto Pleasant Street. Turn left onto Academy Street. Welcome to Cushing Academy!

From Manchester, New Hampshire or areas North
Take a right out of the airport onto Brown Avenue. Following Brown Avenue you will pass an industrial park on your left and a McDonald's on your right. After driving under both overpasses, take an immediate left at the traffic light. Signs at this light will say left for Route 293 North and Route 101. Route 293 will split off to the right, but you will stay to the left and follow signs for Route 101. Take a left at the light onto Route 101 West. Follow 101 West approximately 16 miles until your reach Route 13 South. Follow Route 13 South for approximately 12 miles to Route 119 West. After approximately 10 miles, turn left onto Route 101 South. Cushing Academy will be on your right on Route 101 South just after you pass through the center of Ashburnham. Turn left onto Pleasant Street. Turn left onto Academy Street. Welcome to Cushing Academy!

From Eastern Massachusetts
Follow Route 2 west to Route 63, then go north on Route 63 for approximately 8 miles to where Route 63 merges with Route 10, then turn left on Route 10 south. Drive 1.7 miles (you will cross over the Connecticut River) and the campus will be on the left.

From I-91
Take Exit 28 in Massachusetts and follow Route 10 north for 2.8 miles; the campus entrance is on the right.

From the South:
Take I-91 to Vermont Exit 5. *Exit ramp will fork; take LEFT fork (ignoring signs for Routes 5 and 121 and Saxtons River to the right). The road will come to a T; at this intersection turn right onto Back Westminster Road and follow this road for approximately 2 1/2 miles until its junction with Rte. 121. Turn left onto Route 121 and proceed approximately 3 miles to the village of Saxtons River. In the village, you will see a sign for Vermont Academy on the right. Take the next right onto Pleasant Street and then the first left onto Burk Hill St., which leads into Vermont Academy's main entrance. Proceed up the hill onto the campus, bear right between Jones building (on your left) and the headmaster's residence (on your right). You may park in the designated spaces on your left just past the dorm.

The Admissions Office is the small cobblestone cottage close by the parking area and visible between the first two red brick buildings as you enter the campus.

From the North:
Take Exit 5 off I-91 South. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right. Follow directions above for “from the south” (see * above).

From the East: Follow Route 2 west to I-91 to Vermont Exit 5. Follow directions above for “from the south” (see * above).

Train (Amtrak) and bus (Vermont Transit Lines) service is available to the town of Bellows Falls, Vermont, approximately five miles from the school.
