Parents Council

The Parents Council was founded so that parents could have a voice in school decisions and to strengthen connection between the school and parents. Some 40 parents participate, meeting twice a year to discuss the state of the school and how best to support its mission.

In 1993 the NMH Parents Council voted to underwrite faculty salaries and give Faculty Chair Awards with money given to the Parents Fund, as attracting and rewarding the very best teachers is one of NMH’s highest priorities. These awards are given annually to outstanding instructors in three areas: academics, athletics, and residential life. The recipients receive a $5,000 cash prize.
