Diversity Day Eve Program: Sweet Honey In The Rock®

As we celebrate the upcoming Diversity Day one week from today (Thursday, February 16th) we have prepared a very special "Diversity Day Eve" program in lieu of Study Hall Wednesday evening. We are please to welcome Grammy-nominated acapella group, Sweet Honey In The Rock®, to NMH!
Founded by Bernice Johnson Reagon in 1973 at the D.C. Black Repertory Theater Company, Sweet Honey is an internationally renowned a cappella ensemble. Rooted in a deeply held commitment to create music out of the rich textures of African American legacy and traditions, Sweet Honey In The Rock possesses a stunning vocal prowess that captures the complex sounds of Blues, spirituals, traditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, Hip Hop, ancient lullabies, and jazz improvisation.
This required special event will begin at 8pm in Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 15th and will conclude by 10pm (day students are welcome to spend the night in their own dorms). Update
Oct. 31, 3 pm—Power has been restored to campus. We will, however, need a day to bring all systems back on line. As announced earlier, we will not have classes or activities on Tuesday and we ask that all students currently off campus remain off campus until tomorrow. We will resume our regular schedule of classes and activities on Wednesday morning. Again, it is critical that students who are off campus return tomorrow and not sooner.
Should parents have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's advisor. The Dean of Students' office will be in touch with any further updates.
Oct. 30—A foot of snow fell on the NMH campus Saturday night, causing power outages on campus and in surrounding areas. The campus remained open and functioned with limited power. Classes and activities were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday.
- Day students are asked not to be on campus until Wednesday morning.
- Boarding students who are off campus for the weekend are encouraged to remain home until Tuesday.
- All other boarding students are welcome to go home until Tuesday.
- Any boarding student who wishes to remain home or go home must have parents email me at nhager@nmhschool.org or leave a voice message at 413-498-3326.

What’s for breakfast? Your favorite breakfast cereals! Start your day off right with favorites like Cap’n Crunch and Fruit Loops!! Breakfast sandwiches & donuts too!
