The D.L. Moody bust was a gift to the school in 1919 as a 40th Anniversary present from the graduates of the Northfield Seminary. It was installed in Sage Chapel and a tradition began: thousands of NSFG girls and post-merger alumni who attended services and meetings in Sage Chapel rubbed DL's nose for good luck. The bust has been living in the Birthplace since the consolidation of the campuses and has made occasional appearances at special events. Now the bust is permanently installed in Memorial Chapel on a beautiful pedestal crafted by our own talented plant staff, where NMH students can access all the good luck daily!
