The Archives is available during the academic year when school is in session.

Mission Statement

The Northfield Mount Hermon School Archives exists to preserve, promote and provide access to material documenting the history of the school and the life of its founder, D.L. Moody. The archives serves researchers both within and beyond the Northfield Mount Hermon community. In support of this mission, the NMH archives engages in the following activities:

  • Identifies, appraises, collects, arranges, describes, preserves, and makes available materials of enduring historical, legal and administrative value to Northfield Mount Hermon
  • Serves faculty and students by providing access to primary historical materials that support the instructional programs of the school Serves as a resource to administrative offices, preserving and providing access to materials of institutional value
  • Serves the alumni and their association by preserving a record of student life, both individual and collective, at the school
  • Enriches scholarship about and appreciation for the school and the life of D. L. Moody by encouraging the use of archival collections
