A Cappella Singers Sound Off at NMH

MOUNT HERMON, MA—To think of a cappella solely as doo-wap music is to drastically limit the form’s potential. Arrangements range from simple and soothing to complex and avant garde, from strange to strangely familiar. On November 17 at Blake Student Center at 8 pm, Northfield Mount Hermon School will set the stage for five a cappella groups, two NMH student ensembles—the all-male Hogappella and the all-female Nellies—and three college groups: from Skidmore College, the all-female Sonneteers; from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the co-ed Audiophiles; and from Wheaton College, the all-male Gentlemen Callers. Each visiting group has an NMH alum as a member.

This A Cappella Festival is free and open to the public.
