Stories of Movement at NMH
GILL, MA—The latest in the Interviews dance series at Northfield Mount Hermon School gives viewers a look into the dancers’ inner thoughts. Interviews: Moving Stories features new dance works by dance faculty and student choreographers.
Video segments of student dancers and choreographers offering insights and stories will be shown between dance pieces, allowing the audience a deeper connection to the work. The focus for this show, as it has been this term for the dancers, is more introspective and individually revealing, as the definition of identity is questioned through a personal connection to dance as an expressive art form.
The concert will feature works in many different styles, including hip-hop, lyrical jazz, ballet en pointe, modern, and traditional Korean dance. All dances are created and performed by the NMH Dance Company students and faculty.
The dates of the Winter Dance Concert are Thursday, February 15, at 7 pm; Friday, February 16, at 7:30 pm; and Saturday, February 17, at 8 pm. All performances will be held in the Grandin Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for general admission, and $2 for NMH community members. All proceeds from the Winter Dance Concert will be donated to the Coalition to Save Darfur.
