Service Day at NMH

GILL, MA— Monday is Service Day at Northfield Mount Hermon School. Approximately 630 students and 110 faculty members will pitch in all over Franklin County, doing landscaping at the Energy Park in Greenfield and at the Gill and Northfield elementary schools, restoring trails and cleaning up river banks, making cards for residents of retirement homes and nursing homes, knitting scarves for people in homeless shelters, and preparing community meals. This is the eighth annual Service Day, and kicks off NMH’s Outreach Program, in which about a quarter of NMH students participate year-round.

Service Day activities begin at 1:30 pm on Monday, Sept. 11. From 3 to 5 pm at Blake Student Center there will be a Service Fair so students can learn more about volunteer opportunities on and off campus.
