NMH Observes
11th Annual Day of Silence

GILL, MA—Northfield Mount Hermon School will be one of thousands of campuses nationwide to participate in a Day of Silence April 18, 2007, to acknowledge discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. Many students, faculty, and staff members on campus either will be silent or will be wearing scarves or ties to signal their support of the GLBT community.

The Day of Silence is an annual event held to bring attention to anti-GLBT bullying, harassment and discrimination in schools. The event is one of the largest student-led actions in the country, according to its website, www.dayofsilence.org.
