NMH Dancers Present
"State of the Art" Program
GILL, MA—The Northfield Mount Hermon School Dance Companies present the third installment of this school year’s theme, Interviews, with an evening of new dances called State of the Art. The program will play from May 10 to 12 at 7:30 pm at Grandin Auditorium.
The performances will focus on the larger cultural questions of what it is like to be a dancer/choreographer at NMH, in the United States, and in the world. Through the lens of individual experiences, members of the companies share their memories and insights about dance and their creative processes in a series of brief video segments that introduce each dance piece.
New dances will be presented by faculty and student choreographers including Amanda Chapin, Megan Bathory-Peeler, Laurel Salvi, Emily Jacke, Martin Shedd, Caitlin Orner, Aja Kane, Fayette Phillips, and Althea SullyCole. Proceeds from this concert will benefit the Wipe A Tear Rwanda fund.
Tickets are $2 for NMH community members and $5 for the general public. Ticket reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 413-498-3017.
