Dance Puts Music in Motion at NMH

GILL, MA—Midwinter will be musical thanks to three evenings of dance at Northfield Mount Hermon School February 16-18. The NMH Dance Companies are presenting Music in Motion at Grandin Auditorium on the Mount Hermon campus.
Laurel Salvi choreographed Doorways and Other Ways, a suite set to music by J.S. Bach, and Unwind your Mind, an upbeat funk piece danced by the senior dance company. Gretel Schatz choreographed a dance for sweet surprises set to music by Pink Martini. Schatz also staged a comedic piece performed by Snapdragon Dance Group, an NMH dance repertory group that spoofs the many complex aspects of dance classes.
Student choreographers include Clementine Amidon’06, Amanda Clarke ’06, Ceridwyn Ely ’07, Olivia Krueger ’06, Mariko Oda ’07, Caitlin Orner ’07, Alice Ryu ’06, and Althea SullyCole ’08.
The concert at Grandin Auditorium on the Mount Hermon campus in Gill, is open to the public. Tickets ($2 for students, children, seniors and NMH faculty and staff; $5 for adults) can be reserved by calling 413-498-3017 and are available at the door. February 16 and 17 shows start at 7:30 pm. The February 18 show begins at 7 pm.
Northfield Mount Hermon School is a coeducational independent boarding and day high school in Gill, Massachusetts.
