Stone Awarded NMH Alumni Citation
NORTHFIELD, Mass.— David Stone of Albany, NY received the Northfield
Mount Hermon School Alumni Citation award at the school’s recent
alumni weekend festivities. The award recognizes outstanding
volunteers to NMH and the school’s Alumni Association.
A member of the class of 1965, Stone has always felt motivated
to make his class the best in terms of camaraderie and
commitment to NMH. He has been class secretary for two decades
and has been planning class reunions since 1990. He assembled a
class archive of NMH memorabilia which included materials from
his grandfather, a 1908 graduate. When he noticed that women
tended to outnumber men at reunions, Stone embarked on a
successful campaign to improve that ratio. He also has been
instrumental in helping to organize class birthday parties.
Stone currently works for the First Unitarian Universalist
Church in Albany.
