Shaw Awarded NMH Alumni Citation
NORTHFIELD, Mass.— Judith Gibbs Shaw of Providence, RI received the
Northfield Mount Hermon School Alumni Citation award at the
school’s recent alumni weekend festivities. The award recognizes
outstanding volunteers to NMH and the school’s Alumni
Association.
Currently a practicing pediatrician in Providence and a clinical
assistant professor at Brown, Shaw is a graduate of Princeton
and Brown University Medical School. She is also a consulting
physician to the Moses Brown School and an alternative middle
school in Providence. Shaw was elected to the NMH Board of
Trustees in 1991, and served for a time as its clerk. With
expertise in adolescence issues, she helped develop the
successful concept of the ninth-grade village, where freshmen
live and learn together. She has been a gift chair and an active
reunion participant.
