Fennoy Receives NMH Community Service Award
NORTHFIELD, Mass.— Ilene Fennoy, MD of New York City was given
the Northfield Mount Hermon School’s Community Service Award at
the school’s recent alumni weekend festivities.
Fennoy, a 1965 graduate of NMH, is a tireless worker in the
fight against diabetes and obesity. Holder of degrees in
medicine and public health, she specializes in pediatric and
adolescent endocrinology, diabetes, and nutrition. She was
responsible for bringing public health and correctional
medicinal services for New York City residents into the sphere
of the Health and Hospitals Corporation, developing an AIDS
prevention plan and clinical guidelines for treating HIV in
pregnant women, improving the clinical programs offered by
ambulatory care facilities in the Brooklyn Hospital Center, and
implementing a program to improve immunization rates in young
children.
Fennoy also is director of several professional societies and
maintains a clinical practice, and has earned recognition as one
of the best doctors in New York. She has served a term on the
NMH Board of Trustees.
