September 1, 2004

NORTHFIELD, Mass.—The Northfield Mount Hermon School will celebrate the start of the new school year on Sunday, September 5, at 11:00 am in the Auditorium on the school’s Northfield campus. Included in the events will be the installation of Thomas K. Sturtevant as head of school, and Richard W. Mueller as president of the school.

Sturtevant became associate head of school at NMH in July 2003. Prior to work at NMH, he taught at St. Andrew’s School in Delaware, and was upper school principal at Friends Academy in New York.

Mueller has served as head of the school since 1998. He graduated from NMH in 1962 and served as United States Consul general to Hong Kong during a 32-year career in U.S. Foreign Service.

Opening Convocation is the first time the school gathers together, and will feature procession, ceremony, and speeches.
