NMH Celebrates Opening Convocation with Installation of New
Head
September 1, 2004
NORTHFIELD, Mass.—The Northfield Mount Hermon School will
celebrate the start of the new school year on Sunday, September 5,
at 11:00 am in the Auditorium on the school’s Northfield campus.
Included in the events will be the installation of Thomas K.
Sturtevant as head of school, and Richard W. Mueller as president
of the school.
Sturtevant became associate head of school at NMH in July 2003.
Prior to work at NMH, he taught at St. Andrew’s School in
Delaware, and was upper school principal at Friends Academy in New
York.
Mueller has served as head of the school since 1998. He graduated
from NMH in 1962 and served as United States Consul general to
Hong Kong during a 32-year career in U.S. Foreign Service.
Opening Convocation is the first time the school gathers together,
and will feature procession, ceremony, and speeches.
