NMH Students Have Questions for Candidate

NORTHFIELD, Mass.—Terrorist attacks, minorities in the presidential cabinet, the importance of Latinos. These are some of the questions Northfield Mount Hermon School students want to ask presidential hopeful General Wesley Clark. They’ll have that chance Friday night, January 23, at an event hosted by NMH senior Douglas Garrison that features a conference call with the candidate.
“I volunteered to work for the Clark 04 campaign about a month and half ago,” says Garrison. “To host this event, I simply registered online with the campaign when they asked for volunteers to do so.”
If the allure of a political evening isn’t enough, Garrison knows how to get his fellow teenagers to the event. “Music is being provided purely by students. We’ll have on band and two individual performers during the course of the evening. Food is coming in from everywhere,” he reports. So are topics for questions. Garrison estimates about 100 students will attend.
