Northfield Alumna is NMH Commencement Speaker
NORTHFIELD, Massachusetts—Northfield Mount Hermon School is pleased to
announce this year’s commencement speaker, Carol J. Ramsey, NMH class of
1970. The school’s 121th Commencement will take place on Sunday, June 6 at
11 am on the Mount Hermon campus in Gill.
Ramsey joined the NMH Board of Trustees in 2002 and participated in the
intensive study and discussions that led the board to its historic
decision in January 2004 to become a one-campus school.
After graduating from NMH, Ramsey earned a degree in botany at Connecticut
College, and she has spent her career in education and philanthropy. She
held positions at Bowdoin and Vassar and was head of the Wilmington
Friends School from 1990-94. She now serves as director of corporate
contributions with the Raytheon Company of Waltham, Mass. She has held
trusteeships at Connecticut College, Thacher School, Buckley School, Grand
Opera House, and North Carolina Outward Bound.
