NMH Upward Bound Scholarship Campaign Kickoff

NORTHFIELD, Mass.—The Northfield Mount Hermon Upward Bound Program is holding a kickoff for its Scholarship Campaign on Friday May 21 at 5 pm at Daly House (an NMH dorm), 91 Highland St. in Northfield . The NMH Parents Council is raising scholarship funds to help Upward Bound students who have gaps in their college financial aid packages. There will be an open house from 4-7 pm with refreshments and a chance to speak to alumni, students, parents, and staff.

Leaders from the school and local businesses will speak about the program’s history and successes. Shane Hammond, the vice president of GBI Marketing of Bernardston, will speak about his company’s support for the program. The Scholarship Campaign goal is to raise $25,000 for four to five scholarships this year and to create an endowment for ongoing scholarships. Parents and staff have raised over $3,000 to date.

NMH Upward Bound is a federally funded program serving low income and first generation students from Greenfield High School , Turners Falls High School , Holyoke High School , and Springfield High Schools . Students receive intensive year-round services that prepare them to be successful in high school and college. RSVP to 413-498-3416 if you plan to attend.
